Culture
I needed to begin this month of February that has been appointed as Black History month with the appreciation of our elders who helped get us this far. We may not always agree of some of the methods that were used to get us here, but we are still without question, here.
As we also know that our historical
accounts here in Babylon, have to be carefully attended too with
knowing the effects of what has been recorded of our elders in
Babylon's implication to cause inside of us, this day and time an
intense hatred that many of us are not able to discard for the
present time, because of many evil forces that have not changed since
the elders marched and spoke the truth of what is affecting our
progress in this corporation/country called america.
I find it very important to only be
angry at the wrong that was done and in the same movement discard the
hatred that is tried to be instilled in us every February for the
sake of non-productivity by this american media machine. It is a fact
that no black man nor woman can effectively produce any solution to
their communities problems, if their minds are continuously made
cluttered with hatred and a pointless animosity that can not be
resolved this day. But, to understand that in this day and time, we
are to work towards a better future for to lay down a foundation that
will prevent what has happen to us before, will never happen again.
Historical accounts are only for the
sake of information of what was and what still is and not to cripple
the minds and hearts of a people who were abused and oppressed with
hatred. There is nothing wrong with hatred, as long as that hatred
does not blind us to what needs to be done now, but is used not to
cripple the mind, but to inspire movement for the sake of resolve. To
hate what happened, is to inspire correction for those things to
never happen again; and this is the balance of observation, anger,
hatred, intelligence and thus resolve.
As long as we are here, we are making
history. Our history is not simply began and ended in this shortest
month of the year/still in the back of the bus. We are an ever
evolving people and our history can never be told inside of a simple
28 days. We have a lot of work to do in the area of morality because
of the affect and encouragement of this western culture that has
forever destroyed the common morality of others cultures abroad the
earth. The western culture that we have been contaminated with has
taken the minds and hearts of many of our youth by way of music and
have encouraged nothing but self-destruction; and if our youth are
destroyed inwardly as well as in affect outwardly, then we no longer
have a future that is prosperous in culture, but one that continues
to cause a drowning effect of what is morally left of our ancestors.
I love you:) And I ask, plead with all
of my community to understand the importance of culture as we create
it this day and time. Let us do what needs to be done to fix our
community upon every level.
